The Essential Guide to Monogrammed Towels in Houston: Quality, Style, and Local Craftsmanship

Monogrammed Towels in Houston: A Simple Guide to Getting Them Right

A monogrammed towel is one of those gifts people actually use every day. It works for weddings, housewarmings, new babies and birthdays, and it’s just as nice as a treat for your own bathroom. If you’re looking for monogrammed towels in Houston, here’s what to know before you order.

Why Monogrammed Towels Make Great Gifts

A towel with someone’s initials or name on it feels personal without being over the top. It’s practical, it lasts, and it shows you put some thought into it. Monogrammed towels are especially popular as wedding and shower gifts, since a couple’s new shared initial or last name makes a sweet keepsake.

Choosing the Right Towel

Thicker, good-quality cotton towels usually look best with embroidery, because the stitching sits nicely on top of the fabric. You’re welcome to bring in your own towels, whether they’re a set you already love or something that matches a bathroom. We’ll take a look first to make sure they’re a good fit for embroidery.

Picking a Monogram Style

  • Single initial: clean, simple and modern.
  • Three-letter monogram: the classic look. For one person, it’s usually first initial, a larger last initial in the middle, then the middle initial.
  • Full name or a word: fun for kids’ towels, guest towels or gifts like “Mr.” and “Mrs.”

On bath towels, the monogram usually goes centered just above the decorative band near the bottom edge, so it shows when the towel is folded over a bar. On hand towels and washcloths, a corner placement works well too.

Choosing Thread Colors

A thread color that contrasts with the towel, like navy on white or white on gray, is easy to read and looks sharp. Tone-on-tone, like white on cream, gives a softer, more subtle look. If you’re not sure, we’ll help you pick when we put together your mockup.

Caring for Monogrammed Towels

To keep the embroidery looking good, wash towels in cool or warm water, skip the bleach, and tumble dry on low or medium. It also helps to avoid scrubbing the embroidered area hard.
